Introducing solids

We've hit the 6 month mark, and started little A on solid foods. We actually started a few days shy of 6 months, once it became really difficult usto keep him out of our food. He was grabbing our plates, any bit of food in sight and was successful on a few occasions.

Just like we did with little C, we are following Baby Led Weaning practices. I won't go into detail about the process, there are TONS of great sights out there with information and advice. But generally less spoon feeding of purees, and straight to finger/fist (let's face it at 6 months he's grabbing with his whole hand) foods. We do give cereal and some pureed foods, we just make sure he is eager to eat (always), and I've taken to letting him have them in his Boon feeder, like a mesh feeder, but silicon and pretty awesome in my opinion.

Baby Led Weaning is messy for sure but leads to some fun pictures, and there is sensory play built into your day automatically. It also now lets us eat more as a family.

Little A will probably get more purees, than little C did, mostly because I'm home full time and find the time to make them, but we are also using them to give him craft/sensory play along side his big sister. Today while little c painted and played with color mixing, little A got to play with the color green, kale and Apple  puree it also served as his lunch. I like not having to worry if he sucks his fists while playing and not having to tell him not to ready the paint all through craft time.  Today's messy craft/sensory play them led to the children's favorite sensory play - water, as we finished up with a bath. I did have little a wear a bib, which proved to be pointless all it did was keep a small section of his chest clean.
